Barca interested in Lewandowski if they have triple his salary

Eduard Romeu, Barcelona's financial vice-president, spoke to 'RAC1' about the latest at Barcelona. He accused La Liga president Javier Tebas of not having stopped the club before when they tried to sign players. He said Tebas "was also responsible" for Barca's current situation. He said that to sign Lewandowski, they will have to earn three times his salary.

Barcelona know that this summer is going to be difficult. In order to sign and meet Financial Fair Play, the club will have no other option than to look for financing. In addition, they will have to get rid of important players.

Eduard Romeu, Barca's financial vice-president admitted that signing Robert Lewandowski is going to be a tough ask. "If we're capable of getting triple the cost of his salary plus the transfer fee, we can sign him, but first we need to sort out the financial agreements with the 'socios'. If we don't do that, at the moment, the rules mean it will not be possible to sign him," he told 'RAC1'.

And he singled out Tebas for not having done enough to stop Josep Maria Bartomeu in the past. "Barca are to blame for this situation, but this man (Tebas) is also responsible. He looked the other way and has allowed the current situation to happen. He said yes to everything against Barca's interests."

He admitted that in salarial terms, they are still quite a lot better off than other big clubs. "Mateu Alemany has done a great job. We've got a wage bill of 560 million euros, which is double Bayern's. They have 300 million and Madrid 400," he commented. 

On whether senior players will leave or not, he said that the footballer in question will have the final say. "Will they leave? It's each person's decision. We cannot allow certain situations, but you have to make an evaluation. They haven't deceived anybody and Barcelona have respected their agreements, another thing is that we have to negotiate with them," he said. 

Lastly, Romeu spoke about the agreement betwee CVC and LaLiga: "It has a series of requisites which we cannot accept. We with CVC have a parallel offer where we earn the equivalent amount in almost half the time. CVC has a conflict of interest because it is La Liga's partner and they are willing to do so as long as you sign for the other, but I can do without CVC and go to another fund. The last thing we want is to have to get Tebas' approval again. We've said enough."
